The Montesquieu Centre for Public Law organised a colloquium on 23 March 2023 on discipline in the public service.

Professor David Renders brought together a panel of specialists in public service law. The conference was attended by 330 people, including judges, lawyers, university professors, administration representatives and students.

On this occasion, Me Jean Laurent developed the theme of preventive suspension measures for statutory agents with Me Judith Merodio.

The two authors discussed the characteristics of the order measures concerned and their conditions of application. They also examined the measures of withholding treatment that are ancillary to suspension measures. The analysis of the case law of the Council of State enabled them to draw up lines of thought and conclusions pointing to some possible solutions.

The proceedings of the colloquium gathering all the contributions are 800 pages long and provide a complete picture of the disciplinary field in the civil service. They are published by Larcier and are already available for sale.
